Homeschool Teens of COS was created in January 2023. We're a brand new nonprofit born from the idea of having milestone events for our virtual & homeschool students. While other groups in the community offer dances, none of them offer the full formal experience of a "typical" prom. Meaning; no younger siblings running around, hosted in a true event space, decorated to the 9's, & clean but neutral music playing.

To clear it up - you may ask what does clean neutral music really mean? Well, to us, "clean" means music free from cursing, extreme sexual references, and/or drug/alcohol references. The "neutral" means not affiliated with any religious or political groups so that all kinds of people can feel welcome & no one single group is put on a pedestal.

You/ your kiddo will not feel left out, awkward, or put down by any of the music or venue choices made by this group - that is our commitment to this community!
We do have a couple of rules while your child(ren) are in our care, even if you are present:

1. No smoking/ vaping at events, socials, or even on zoom socials.
​
2. No exiting the event space without speaking with the host or door volunteer.
​
3. No alcohol, cursing, disrespectful language, sneaking into non event spaces like bathrooms with other attendees.

4. While we do have older teens at our events & relationships are perfectly normal - no heavy touching/ kissing. Think PG13: holding hands, light kisses, slow dancing is totally fine. Much past that & a volunteer will discreetly ask it to stop. Parents will always be notified to have the opportunity to have further discussions at home if need be.

5. Limited phone use. Take pictures, exchange phone numbers, text parents - but let's put the phones down & engage with friends. Not only will it enhance the experience, but it makes for better candid crowd pics!
